Product Description and Uses:

Schwartz HS 40 Sheen Clear Lacquer is a high solids nitrocellulose-based lacquer topcoat for any interior wood furniture and cabinetry.

It has an excellent adhesion and film build providing protection and aesthetics to any wood surface.

Suggested Uses:	Use for interior wood furniture and millwork.
Mixing Instructions:	Mix before use. 1C129 is ready for use. If reduction is needed, reduce with 4T100 Lacquer Thinner to adjust spray viscosity.
Recommended System:	Use Schwartz 1C189 HS Sanding Sealer, followed by 1C129 HS 40 Sheen Clear Lacquer.
Application Tools:	Apply using conventional, airless, air-assisted airless and HVLP sprayer/atomizer.
Coverage:	400 sq ft/gal (1 mil dry film)
Dry Time:	Tack free in15 minutes (25C, 60% RH). Dry hard in 30-45mins. (25C, 60% RH). Caution: cold temperature, high humidity, or lack of airflow will prolong dry times.
Recoat time:	30-45 minutes (25C, 60% RH)
Clean-up Solvent:	4T100 Lacquer Thinner
Reducer:	4T100 Lacquer Thinner
Retarder:	4T175 Retarder

Surface Preparation:

Surfaces must be clean, dry and contaminant-free.

Sand wood with 150-grit sandpaper before staining or coating.

Remove all dust.

When sealer or topcoat is sanded, always apply succeeding coat within 8 hours of sanding.

Sand between coats with 280 - 320 grit sandpaper.

Application:

Following surface preparation, apply by spray.

Check with equipment manufacturer for settings to achieve the correct atomization.

For best results, seal bare wood with 1 coat of 1C189 HS Sanding Sealer followed by 2 even coats of 1C129 HS 40 Sheen Clear Lacquer at 3 - 5 mils wet film thickness per coat.

Always allow to dry and scuff sand between coats with 280-320 grit sandpaper.

Film build of entire system must not exceed 5 mils dry film thickness.

Ambient Conditions:

Use only when ambient conditions are 18°C to 30°C and RH= 40-60%.

Wood moisture content must be between 6 - 10%.

Storage:

Store indoor at room temperature, away from heat, ignition sources, open flames and direct sunlight.

Warning:

Use in a well-ventilated area.

Avoid sparking, use non-sparking tools.

Avoid open flames, turn off all pilot lights, ensure that work area is properly ventilated.

Soiled rags and waste products may contain combustible liquids or vapours, dispose in accordance with local regulations.
